1. What is your definition of successful?
    My definition of successful is being happy with who you are, what you do, and living with no             regrets.
2. What have you given up to become successful?
    I have given up.....nothing(that I can think of.)
3. What did Parks give up to become successful?  
    Gordon Parks gave up a stable, loving family to become successful. 
4. Who was Genevieve Young's father? 
    He was a rich business man.
5. How much was Parks advanced to write his first book (and eventual best-selling autobiography)?  
    He advanced to $10,000 for the first 7 pages. 
6. How much money did Elijah Muhammad offer Parks to do a story on The Nation of Islam?                 $50,000
7. Why did Parks refuse the money? 
     He didn't believe in the religion and felt like it was wrong. 
8. What was significant about the movie The Learning Tree? 
    It was the first movie to be directed by an African American.

     Shaft was a role model and gave a sense of hope to many African Americans.

       It was a roll of film and a camera.

      She did not like the fact how unexpected he was and how she cannot plan her life minute by               minute.

      12 years a slave.

       He was a Gordon Parks son who died from a plane crash.

15. What will you remember about Gordon Parks in ten years? 
       I will remember he was a photographer who wanted to do what he want and gave up his family            to travel and take photos.
